The ZYDECO Alligators

Die ZYDECO Alligators sind bereits seit Mitte der 90er Jahre im "Auftrag des Zydeco" in Deutschland und den angrenzenden europäischen Ländern unterwegs. Seit der Neuformierung 2001 geht es für die Band stetig steil bergauf. Belege hierfür sind die exzellenten Kritiken für ihre CD´s "Louisiana Ball" (2002) sowie "Big City Night" (2003), der Gewinn des Blues Award und des Publikumspreises beim 19. "Internationalen Dresdner Bluesfestival" sowie erfolgreiche Gastspiele auf Festivals in Holland, der Schweiz, Slowakei und Tschechien. Years after The ZYDECO Alligators had successfully toured through Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland with accordion player Alex Bernard, the band re-formed in January 2001. They remain as one of the few currently-existing Zydeco bands in Germany which still perform on stage at festivals, in clubs, and at parties, as the sizes of the Zydeco scenes in Europe and the USA are quite different. The ZYDECO Alligators are pleased to present a new program, which, just as before, is characterized by enthusiasm, talent, and above all lively and authentic Zydeco music. In their music, which, apart from their own pieces and arrangements, also includes music by well-known Zydeco musicians. The Alligators don’t try simply to copy existing works. Zydeco, rhythmic music from the French-speaking Creole culture in southwest Louisiana, that’s fun to dance to, is played on accordions and washboards, and has its roots in Blues and Rhythm & Blues music.
