SOL NACIENTE SALSA BIG BAND

eine Idee entstanden aus jahrelanger Erfahrung und Zusammenarbeit mit lateinamerikanischen Musikern. 2005 war es nach einiger Vorbereitungszeit soweit die Salsa Big Band Sol Naciente zu präsentieren.

Die Konzeption sieht eine professionelle dreiköpfige Vokalsection vor, die sich aus Olvido Ruiz Castellanos ( Kuba ), Frank McLean ( Panama ) , Arturo Martinez ( Kuba ) und Franklyn Ahedo Pestana ( Kuba ) zusammensetzt. In der Tradition der alten grossen Salsa-Orchester, wie z.B. Mario Bauza oder Machito and his Orchestra, setzt Sol Naciente die klanglichen Ideen und verschiedenen Stile durch moderne Arrangements in ein eigenes Klangkonzept um.
Die Reedsection trägt neben der Brass-Section Ihren großen Teil durch die enorme Instrumentenvielfalt ,wie z.B. Altflöte, Piccoloflöte, Bassclarinet, Englishhorn, Oboe, Flute, Clarinet, etc., können die Arrangements optimal den Musikern angepasst werden, bei. Unter der Leitung von Dirk Frederik Klawitter Brasil wird der Klangkörper zu einem einzigartigen Sound zusammengeführt.

Jedes Jahr werden Gaststars aus Kuba eingeladen und Projekte aufgeführt, die von Sponsoren wie z.B. Unicef UYO unterstützt werden.

In 2005 DFKB (Dirk Frederik Klawitter Brasil) founded SOL NACIENTE for a jazz festival in Hamburg and continued the management of the Big Band, consisting of 20 musicians of the international scene.
A professional 4-headed Vokalsection is the front of the band consisting of Maire Ramirez Ronda (Cuba), Frank McLean (Panama), Eddy Checo (Dom.Rep.) and Rolando Richardson ( Dom.Rep.)

All the music is original and composes in the special sound of an orchestra. In the tradition of the old big salsa orchestras, as for example " Mario Bauza " or " Machito and his Orchestra ", SOL NACIENTE change the tonal ideas and different styles with modern arrangements to its own sound.
The horn and Reedsection give with the variety of instrument , e.g. Alto Flute, Piccolo Flute, Bass clarinet, Englishhorn, Oboe,EWI, Clarinet, tuba, Piccolo trumpet and various exotic percussion, in addition with all originals/arrangements the special sound of SALSA VOLUME BIG SOL NACIENTE.

Since this year Olvido Ruiz Castellanos (Vocal) and Oslen Ceballo (Trumpet) belong to the guest's stars . Further we greeted again since January 2009 one the best Cuban singers Alexcis Leyva Escobar in the band.

Every year other guest's stars from Cuba are invited and projects are performed which are supported by sponsors as for example UNICEF UYO.

In 2009 the DEBUT CD of SOL NACIENTE is planned with guests like Paquito d'Riviera, Claudio Roditit, Omar Sosa and Joe Gallardo etc.
