2005 - '06 | Roots – The Winterstorm Sessions

Initially arranged by Andreas / Nihil and Matthias / Cerberus as what we nowadays call a true Black Metal band, Satyros was founded by them and the third founding member André / Hiem in August 2005. Already after the first writing sessions, the band decided to discard their original idea of pure Norwegian Black Metal sound and started to adopt a variety of different influences of Metal within their own style, a mixture of classic metal leads, raw old school riffs and a dark atmosphere.

2007 | Satyros – Releasing the Debut

Due to the time needed for their experiments regarding the creation of sounds, it took the band almost two years to accomplish and release their self-titled debut album. This album contains seven songs including the intro and was, except for the artwork, which has been created by a friend of the band in co-operation with Matthias, totally self produced. The following months Satyros took care about reviews and the promotion of the album. Along the way, the band decided to make a video for the song ‘Loyal to the Crown of Frost’, which was released in autumn 2007. Like the album production, Satyros and another friend of the band took over the filming, recording and editing themselves.

2008 - '09 | A Day of Rain – Time to Purify

As the Band proceeded with the songwriting for another CD, it was obvious to each of them, that they wouldn’t create another black-metal album the way their debut was like. Inclining more and more to Melodic Death / Modern Metal including dark elements, Satyros wrote all in all about 13 new songs out of which they decided to take four to become the material for their new promotional CD. The new songs will also appear on their second album to be recorded right after the release of “A Day of Rain”.
