Ein Quintett aus Wuppertal schickt sich 2007 an, die Maßstäbe in Sachen Hardcore neu zu definieren. „Kämen sie aus Amerika, läge ihnen wahrscheinlich schon die Hardcore-Welt zu Füßen“, urteilte im November 2004 die Westdeutsche Zeitung nach ihrem Debütalbum „Unspoken Words“ (Superherorecords/Trashmark), das FREEFALL völlig zu Recht schon einiges an Aufmerksamkeit einbrachte. So urteilte die Visions: „Der New-School-Hardcore-Express hält für 45 Minuten in Wuppertal.“ Die anschließenden Touren oder Support Slots u.a. mit FACE TOMORROW, H-BLOCKX oder DOG EAT DOG waren ein voller Erfolg und die Single „Another Day Is Passing By“ sowie der Titel „Forever Beloved“ von der gleichnamigen LP „Forever Beloved“ rotieren in den verschiedenen Clubs und sorgen für heftiges Kopfnicken auf den Tanzflächen.

Das Geheimnis liegt darin, dass sich FREEFALL äußerst gekonnt und sympathisch vom Einheitsbrei der stetig wachsenden Anzahl von Hardcorebands unterscheiden. Angenehm rücksichtslos werden Einflüsse aus Pop, Rock’n’Roll, Punk und Hardcore zu eingängigen Songs verarbeitet, die vor Hooklines und genialer Melodieführung nur so strotzen. Treibende Gitarrenriffs wechseln ab mit Soundflächen oder gehen einfach nur voll auf die Zwölf, dazu eine Rhythmusfraktion, die weiß, wie man Druck erzeugt und als Zuckerguss der stetige Wechsel zwischen den beiden Sängern, die vom auskotzenden Geschreie, bis hin zu fein arrangiertem zweistimmigen Gesang keine Wünsche offen lassen. Auch textlich unterwerfen sich FREEFALL keinen Zwängen, so passiert es durchaus, dass sich neben deutschen Textzeilen auch türkische ihren Weg in die Ohren bahnen.

Mit „Forever Beloved“ machen FREEFALL nun ein neues Fass auf! Die Energie ihrer mitreißenden Liveshows resultierend aus unbändiger Spielfreude, konnte ein weiteres Mal im Studio eingefangen und auf Silberling gepresst werden. Das Quintett hat noch mal ordentlich Zeit und Geld investiert und das hat sich bezahlt gemacht. Aufgenommen wurde „Forever Beloved“ in den Sound-Step-Studios in Haan und das Mastering übernahm Kai Blankenberg (BEATSTEAKS, PARADISE LOST, MADSEN, SUCH A SURGE, TOCOTRONIC u.v.a.) in den Skyline Studios in Düsseldorf. War das Vorgängeralbum noch ein Querschnitt aus fünf Jahren Bandgeschichte, gibt es auf „Forever Beloved“ nun 12 aktuelle und frische Songs, die zeigen, dass FREEFALL noch so einiges vorhaben in diesem Jahr...

Seit Juni 2007 steht nun auch ein neues Label fest. FREEFALL haben bei dem kleinen aber feinen Indie Label FEAR THE CROWD RECORDS aus Bochum ihre Verträge unterschrieben und freuen sich auf eine gute Zusammenarbeit.

Since June 2007 now also a new label is certain. FREEFALL with the small however fine Indie RECORDS from Bochum their contracts signed label FEAR THE CROWD and to be pleased itself on a good co-operation.
