Kevin Ashcroft Band

Kevin Ashcroft kam nach einiger Zeit Bühnenabstinenz im Jahre 2004 zu James Deans Car.
Er fing an Songs zu schreiben und dabei kam er 2005 zu dem Entschluß sein eigenes Projekt zu starten. So wurde die Idee zur Kevin Ashcroft Band geboren.
Er schrieb die Songs zu seinem Album "You Gave Me The Blues" und dieses Album erscheint dieses Jahr im Mai/Juni. Obwohl auf dem Album viele Balladen sind rockt die Band live auch richtig ab.
Tony Smith (Drummer) und Pete Taylor (Bass) unterstützten sein Projekt von Anfang an.
Gelegentlich sorgt Nigel Self als Special Guest für noch mehr Vielfalt.

After a music break of 15 years, In 2005 I decided to embark on a project I have wanted to do all my life ... make my own album of original music. Tony Smith the drummer is heavilly involved with the project and I couldn't do this without him..Pete Taylor has joined us bass.

There is Kevin Ashcroft on Vocals / Guitar and Tony Smith on Drums.and Pete Taylor on bass guitar.



Music Style

The original music is a mix of traditional and contemporary blues along with haunting ballads and hard hitting rock n roll - songs such as 'Mississippi River Blues' which retains the style of New Orleans style Blues in which we use only vocals and bottleneck guitar through to 'Still Hurting' which brings Blues right up to date with haunting lyrics and a pulsating guitar solo. 'Life Without You' is perhaps an example of the serious and slower side of the band - just vocals, piano and strings.



Music History

I have been playing guitar since High School....I started playing classical piano but once I saw my first electric guitar I knew it was the instrument for me.

I have played in various bands .including bands that played covers on the 'social club' circuit but I still hadn't found the type of music I really wanted to play on guitar.

After a 15 year music break, in 2004 I was asked to join a Blues band and although it didn't work out I had finally found the type of music I wanted to play on stage - contemporary blues !!



'You Gave Me The Blues'

This will be the title of our first album - the title track is a hard hitting blues ballad thats hopefully brings out the best in my playing - sustained string bending solos that emerse you into the song and belies the fact that the song is 9 minutes long !!!
